Which couples are candidates for infertility treatments ?

Couples who are candidates for infertility treatment methods are usually those who have not conceived naturally after a certain period of trying to conceive.

In women:

Absence of ovulation or irregular ovulation: Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or other hormonal disorders that can disrupt ovulation.

In men:

Reduced sperm motility: Abnormal or low sperm movement that prevents them from reaching the egg.

Abnormal Sperm Shape: Morphological problems that can affect the sperm’s ability to fertilize an egg.

Factors related to lifestyle and general health of couples:

Obesity or underweight can both negatively affect menstrual cycles in women and sperm production in men.

Smoking, alcohol or drugs that may reduce the quality of eggs and sperm.

Severe stress that can affect hormonal balance and consequently fertility.

Infertility without a specific reason, cases where no specific reason for infertility can be found despite extensive tests.

Treatment methods

Depending on the diagnosis and specific circumstances of each couple, different methods of infertility treatment may be used, including:

Intrauterine insemination (IUI)

  • Ovulation stimulation drugs
  • Corrective surgeries

Diagnosing and choosing the appropriate treatment method should be done by gynecologists or infertility specialists after careful examination.
